Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board invites suppliers to tender for the provision of a service to manage violence and aggression training for staff working in Mental Health services. The contract will operate for a period of 3 years to commence from April 2015, with an option to extend for a further periods of 12 months, at the Health Board’s discretion.In Wales standards for training are identified in the All Wales Violence and Aggression Training Passport and Information Scheme (Passport) that comprises various Modules (currently Modules A-D).There are two areas of training requirementGeneral personal safety (Module B) and breakaway techniques (Module C)Restrictive Physical Intervention (RPI) for the safe management of patients (Module D)Ward based nursing staff will require Modules B, C and D with other staff groups covering Modules B to C. Training needs include new staff and there will also be a requirement for update training at appropriate frequencies.Interested parties must have experience of training clinically based staff within the Mental Health environment.
