The tunnel upgrade project Northern region is part of a national project that includes the upgrade of all national road tunnels in accordance with the ‘Regulations on minimum safety requirements for certain road tunnels’ (Tunnel Safety Regulations).The current national road tunnels in the Northern region have different standards due to varied construction practices over time. There will, therefore, be different measures in the various tunnels, based on their condition and construction date. The tunnels in this project are spread over the entire Northern region, but the majority are in the northern parts of Nordland. During project implementation focus will be on trying to achieve a uniform standard in the tunnels to the greatest possible extent, in relation to the requirements society has regarding safety and regularity.The works in this contract includes the following tunnels on the stretch Nord-Trøndelag border — Fauske:— Korgfjell tunnel, 8 533 m;— Finneidfjord tunnel, 857 m;— Nesset tunnel, 578 m;— Illhøllia, 1 260 m;— Saksenvik tunnel, 1,148 m;— Kvænflåget tunnel, 1 747 m;— Pytjehåjen tunnel, 110 m;— Breivikhammar tunnel, 186 m;— Nordmark tunnel, 184 m;— Dalmovikhals tunnel, 164 m;— Saltnes tunnel, 466 m;— Setsåhøgda tunnel, 180 m.The contract has a negative option for the following tunnels:— Pytjehåjen tunnel;— Breivikhammar tunnel;— Nordmark tunnel;— Dalmovikhals tunnel;— Saltnes tunnel;— Setsåhøgda tunnel.The tunnels with a negative option have separate financing than the other tunnels, and can be withdrawn from the contract if there is a lack of financing.The turnkey contractor is, in cooperation with the builder, to undertake the engineering design services for the works, and, based on the engineering design services, agree a target price with a structure as stated in the tender documents.The main amounts of the contract work are expected to be electrotechnical installations, as well as site engineering work resulting from, or a prerequisite for, electrotechnical installations.
